Since INSPIRED Exhibit is about the Bible, how does INSPIRED view the Bible itself?

INSPIRED Exhibit has a strong conviction that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. The Old and New Testaments form a single book that tell the redemptive story of Jesus Christ. INSPIRED is passionate about the Bible and about illuminating its message while telling the remarkable story of how the Bible has come to us.

The Bible has been translated into hundreds of languages, and INSPIRED includes Bibles and manuscripts in a number of those languages. What about the local language where the exhibit is being shown?

The story of Bible translation is one of significant toil and great sacrifice by many people. Following the initial work of translation, the copying, printing, and preservation of the Bible in the local language is often just as remarkable and is a story that needs to be told. INSPIRED always includes the powerful story about how the Bible was translated, printed, and preserved in the local languages of international venues where the exhibit is displayed.

Where do the items displayed in the INSPIRED Exhibit come from?

A collection of core items necessary to effectively tell the story of the Bible’s composition, translation, and preservation is featured at each venue. These core pieces are in the holdings of Manuscript Research Group dba INSPIRED Exhibit. We are also blessed to have collectors from around the world who believe in the vision of INSPIRED Exhibit and who generously loan items to us from their significant private collections. The INSPIRED Exhibit team is extremely grateful for the vision and generosity of these collectors in allowing their valuable items to be seen, often for the first time, by visitors.

How is INSPIRED Exhibit supported?

INSPIRED Exhibit is a non-profit ministry supported completely through donations from individuals, churches, ministries and foundations. For giving information or to donate, please click on the DONATE tab.

What educational opportunities does INSPIRED Exhibit offer for schools?

INSPIRED offers a unique and engaging one-hour educational experience for students of all ages. As students tour the exhibit, docents bring the experience to life. Activities include individual and group learning projects with hands-on activities, even incorporating access to a fully-functional replica of the Gutenberg printing press. Students may even be able to print a page of the Bible for themselves.

What kind of partnership is involved between INSPIRED and the local churches and ministries where the exhibit is displayed?

INSPIRED comes to an area at the request of a coalition of churches, denominations, unions, Bible societies, theological schools, national libraries, museums, or government entities. These groups cooperate together for the purpose of bringing the exhibit to their city or country. While INSPIRED staff is able to assemble the right items to tell the story of the Bible in a powerful way, it is the cooperation between these entities that makes the exhibit possible. Local hosts are best suited to find the right location for the exhibit and to provide the necessary communication that makes it a success. Preparing the exhibit for an international venue may require significant translation, as well as finding gifted volunteers to serve in a variety of roles both before and throughout the exhibit. In collaboration with its hosts, INSPIRED Exhibit determines how long to stay in any one place. Lectures by special guests and educational tours for schools and other groups enhances the experience.
